"Outwardly Perfect" Series

About a year ago, I found a group of vintage plastic fashion figurines at an antique shop, and was immediately inspired by them. This series is about women who would appear to have everything, yet are totally messed up on the inside.

The are all collaged onto cradled masonite using photographs, tissue, paper, oil pastel, mica, glitter, vintage silver string, fabric mesh, and all held together with beeswax. They range in sizes between 9"x12" and 12"x16". They are all approx 3/4" deep.

AND, they were just chosen to be included in a one night only (December 21st) party/show at the 111 Minna Gallery in San Francisco, from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Please visit www.artnowsf.com for more details. YEAH!!!!!!!!

I miss you even when you are here

This is my entry into the annual Postcard Show that the National Collage Society puts on every year. The theme this year is "Wish you were here".

Not such a big deal

This is a new one called "Not Such a Big Deal." It has to do with the pitfalls of spending money without really thinking about the consequences (and the credit card bills to come!). I have a print available of this in my etsy shop......

New old work

So, I have this box of almost done collages that I cracked open tonight and fired up the beeswax. Voila! Three new (yet old) pieces! Let me know what you think.

A Little Crazy

Every feel this way? I was inspired by the classic scene in David Lynch's "Wild at Heart" where Diane Ladd goes nuts with her lipstick.

No. 140

This was one of my first 3-Dimemsional collages with beeswax, and although it was a little hard to deal with, I love the result.
